ARStrobot 2026 – Youth IoT Workshop & Drone Pilot Competition

Program Description ARStrobot 2026 is a national-scale STEM outreach initiative organized by Universitas Adhirajasa Reswara Sanjaya (ARS University) in collaboration with IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Indonesia Chapter. Building on the success of ARStrobot 2025 : Sumo Robot, Line Follower, Soccer Robot and Creative Robot with 41 team participant, in 2026 this program introduces two new activities: Youth IoT Workshop and Youth Drone Pilot Competition. The initiative aims to inspire school-aged children (ages 5–12) and pre-university students to explore engineering, wireless communication, and IoT applications through hands-on drone activities. The program aligns with the IEEE mission of advancing technology for humanity by demonstrating how communication and drone technology can support disaster logistics. This program integrates workshops, mentoring sessions, and competitions to provide measurable STEM learning outcomes. Rationale for Drone Competition The choice of drone technology as the centerpiece of ARStrobot 2026 stems from real-world challenges faced during the Sumatra Aceh disaster in 2025, where massive infrastructure damage left many communities isolated. Road access was cut off, severely limiting the distribution of humanitarian aid and logistics. This tragic event highlighted the urgent need for alternative technologies capable of reaching remote and inaccessible areas. Drone technology offers a practical solution for disaster logistics, enabling rapid delivery of food, medicine, and communication tools to affected populations. By introducing a Drone Logistics Challenge, ARStrobot 2026 prepares the next generation to become disaster-ready innovators, equipping them with both technical skills and humanitarian awareness. The competition is designed not only to foster engineering knowledge but also to cultivate resilience, empathy, and problem-solving skills among youth.
